Self Publishing 101 for Women on a Mission
We are living in a moment of creative opportunity, where we are learning new skills, letting go of publishing norms, and encouraging meaningful relationships with our readers.

Prospective agents, editors, and readers form impressions about you from blogs, forums, profiles, twitter, facebook, and other social media applications. Confident writers understand what these applications are and how to use them in productive conversations with publishing professionals.

Whether your goal is to place your manuscript with an agent or publisher, or to self publish, you must plan how you will showcase your writing talent with the right use of social media tools.

This six-week teleclass is a gentle introduction designed to facilitate your learning in a supportive, stimulating environment. It is a live conference call where you can interact with all of the participants. After you register for the teleclass, you will receive the phone number and access code.

The course begins on June 8 to July 13, 2010 (see registration below). During our six weeks together, we will cover the topics listed. Prior to the start of the course, you will receive an eWorkbook with worksheets, exercises, and resources.

Week I: What is Social Media and Why Does it Matter

Week II: The Art of the Profile for LinkedIn and Other Forums

Week III: Twitter and the Art of Crafting Tweets

Week IV: Blogging Your Key Themes to Build Reader Relationships

Week V: Creating a Facebook Community

Week VI: Putting Together Your Social Media Marketing Plan

Teleclass Meeting Dates:  Tuesday, June 8, 15, 22, 29, and July 6, 13.

Time: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time (New York)

Never miss a class session. This teleclass will be recorded. If you miss a class meeting (or if you want a copy for study purposes), you will be able to download the audio recording of the class session. Listen to it whenever you like on your computer or MP3 player.

NOTE: If you would like to chat about your publishing goals and how this course might help you, or if you have specific questions about the course, please feel free to contact me by phone at 917-628-4547 or by email.
